Director of Tourism @ Greater Zion
Kevin’s influence has helped transform Washington County from a quiet golf and retirement community into an exciting destination for outdoor adventure and the established home to some of the most iconic events in the world.
Over the past year, the Tourism Office has successfully navigated constantly changing travel conditions to help produce record-breaking tourism revenues. With visitor spending at more than $700 million each year, tourism remains one of the strongest contributors to the area’s economic success.
Kevin played the lead role in securing the 2021 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship. That event generated nearly $18 million in economic impact. When other destinations were struggling to host events, Kevin facilitated agreements to bring two more of the world’s most recognized championship events to this area in 2022. In May, for the first time ever, the IRONMAN World Championship will move from Kona, Hawaii to St. George. That event will be the most significant sporting event to happen in Utah since the 2002 Winter Olympics. In October, St. George will host the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship for the second year in a row.
Kevin is the recipient of multiple awards for creative advertising and public relations work, including development of the Greater Zion brand. He is an accomplished presenter whose career started in broadcasting. Kevin grew up in Salt Lake City but has lived in Washington County for 30 years. He holds degrees in Broadcast Journalism and English from Southern Utah University.
